UNM Libraries Will Host Free Patent and Trademark Seminar

Anyone with an interest in learning about how to research patents and trademarks can find out tips and techniques by attending a free seminar on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the Willard Reading Room in Zimmerman Library.

The seminar, which begins at 9 a.m. and lasts through 4 p.m., will lead you through an overview of how patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets work and will take you through the step by step search for a federal trademark.

The presenters are from the U.S. Patent and Trademark office. This seminar will be of particular interest to independent inventors, legal professionals and anyone with an interest in patents and trademarks. The seminar will detail the basic of intellectual property protection, patent searching and how to avoid scam artists.
