UNM Presents Fourth Annual N.M. Media Industries Conference

Members of New Mexico’s media-related worlds – including film, animation, games, education, research and technology development – will converge at the Fourth Annual N.M. Media Industries Conference: Media Industries 4 New Mexico’s Future, hosted by the University of New Mexico ARTS Lab on Jan. 12. All interested may participate to learn what’s happening in the state’s media industries and meet the people who are making it happen.

This year’s conference, held 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the UNM Student Union Building, features presentations and workshops on Digital Media 101, Indie Filmmaking Essentials, Making New Mexico’s Incentives Work for You, Animation and Game Development, along with a special presentation from symbol and design expert Maggie Macnab of Macnab Design.

The conference is part of UNM’s response to the state’s Media Industries Strategy Project – Gov. Richardson’s plan to create a media industry in New Mexico based on the state’s unique combination of technical, artistic and cultural resources.
