What: UNM Freshman Family Day & Freshman Convocation
The University of New Mexico’s Freshman Family Day, held the afternoon before the start of fall classes, is an annual tradition welcoming incoming students and their families to the UNM community.

When: 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 23

Where: Popejoy Hall, Center for the Arts, UNM main campus.
Camera setup for convocation will be in the back row of the orchestra level, beginning at 3 p.m. Media are asked to use existing lighting only. Please, no flash or additional lights. Cutaway shots can be taken from the alcoves on either side of the main auditorium. Cameras are asked to stay out of the aisles.

Who: Organized by the Office of the University Secretary for new students and their families.

Additional Photo/Video Opportunities: Following convocation, students and their families are invited to a celebration near University House at the Duck Pond. Tour guides will give a personalized class crawl to students who bring a class schedule.
