UNM Press author Melody Groves will sign copies of her book, “Arizona War: A Colton Brothers Saga,” at Borders-West Side, 2-3:30 p.m. This American West novel traces the Colton brothers and their adventures in the Arizona Territory at the start of the Civil War. Monday, Feb. 9
The School of Architecture and Planning presents a lecture by Helen Horowitz, Smith College, on the life and work of J.B. Jackson in the George Pearl Hall auditorium, 5:15-6:30 p.m. Contact Dot Waldrip at dotw@unm.edu or 277-5885.

Wednesday-Tuesday, Feb. 11-17
UNM presents a week-long birthday bash, “Great Minds: A Celebration of Charles Darwin’s and Abraham Lincoln’s 200th Birthday.” On the shared birthday, Thursday, Feb. 12, events include a birthday party kickoff at the Student Union Building atrium, 11 a.m.-noon, a research lab open house by the Departments of Earth and Planetary Sciences and Biology, 1:30-3:30 p.m. in Northrop and Castetter Halls, and a demonstration of skeletal models and artifacts that evidence the evolutionary process at the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology, 2-3 p.m. For a complete list of the week’s events, visit unm.edu/greatminds.

Career Services presents Career Expo 2009, the largest career fair on campus with more than 100 local and national employers from a multitude of industries, at the Student Union Building, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Contact Mary Montano at montano@unm.edu or 277-2531.
