Wrolstad Named Director of UNM Recreational Services

Dr. Eliseo “Cheo” Torres, vice president of Student Affairs, announces that Roger Wrolstad is the new director of UNM Recreational Services.

Wrolstad began his career at UNM as a Sports Administration Program graduate student in 1991, and shortly thereafter became manager of Johnson Center, a role he held until now.

“With the development of a new UNM Recreation Center, it was important to establish strong leadership. Roger brings capabilities and experience to the position,” Torres said.

Wrolstad said, “It will require significant effort by a wide variety of individuals, but I am confident that we are up to the task.”

In his new position, Wrolstad will retain many of the responsibilities he held in his managerial role, with some differences, one being the merger of two Recreational Center employee teams to make center operations run smoothly.

“The new position challenges me to continue the exceptional support the Recreational Services Department has provided the university community,” Wrolstad said.
