Annie Proulx to Present Summer Sunset Lecture at UNM

Annie Proulx will present “Coming Out of the Mountains” a lecture about life and writing on June 20th at 6:00 p.m. in the West Wing of Zimmerman Library.  The lecture is hosted by University Libraries as one of two Summer Sunset lectures being held.

Annie Proulx's “The Shipping News” won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, the National Book Award for Fiction, and the Irish Times International Fiction Prize. She is the author of two other novels: “Postcards,” winner of the PEN/Faulkner Award, and “Accordion Crimes”. She has also written three collections of short stories,”Heart Songs and Other Stories,” “Close Range” and “Fine Just the Way it Is.”  “The Shipping News” and her short story “Brokeback Mountain” have both been made into major motion pictures.
