Tuesday, May 5 For HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, the Pre-Pharmacy Society hosts a presentation on the HIV/AIDS epidemic and prevention in Student Union Building ballroom C, 7-9 p.m., with guest speakers from the College of Pharmacy and the HIV/AIDS awareness center. Wednesday, May 6 Manuel Olave, president, Universidad Privada Boliviana in Bolivia, presents “Bolivia: A tale of two cities – Globalization, Poverty and Democracy,” at Latin American and Iberian Institute, 801 Yale NE, noon-1 p.m. Call (505) 277-4821. Friday, May 8 The UNM School of Engineering presents “From Bean to Bar: the Sweet Science of Chocolate” in the Continuing Education Auditorium, 12:30-1:20 p.m. as part of the National Science Foundation’s Partnership for Research and Education in Biomaterials. The lecture includes experiments, taste tests and interactive demonstrations to investigate what makes the perfect chocolate bar.
