Welcome Back Days at duck pond
The duck pond is the setting for this years Welcome Back Days set for
Aug. 20-24. Activities will run each day from approximately 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Live music will be featured throughout the week at noon at the Cactus Garden
southwest of Zimmerman Library.
Events include:
Monday, Aug. 20: Presidents Ice Cream Social featuring William C. Gordon and other University officials who will serve ice cream to the students, staff and faculty.
Tuesday, Aug. 21: Living Well Day features piñatas, climbing walls, prizes, food and live entertainment. Safety, health, wellness and recreation departments will offer information during the event.
Wednesday, Aug. 22: Womens and Culture Day features free green chile stew. Information about all UNM ethnic cultural and womens centers programs and departments will be on hand.
Thursday, Aug. 23: Student Organization Day. Student leaders are set to meet with students. Information on how to get involved in a variety of organizations will be provided. ASUNM representatives will serve free pizza and beverages on main campus. Alumni will serve free food to students at the north campus plaza.
Friday, Aug. 24: Exploring New Frontiers Day. UNM staff and community organizations will offer job and volunteer information. UNM Alumni Relations will serve free hotdogs and Pepsi.
Welcome Back Nights will be held from 4-6 p.m. at the duck pond to offer information to nontraditional students.
Welcome Back Days began Saturday, Aug. 18 with Fan Photo Night. Free pizza,
hotdogs and root beer floats were served at UNM Stadium. The movie Gladiator
was shown at the football field.
Students toured UNM and located their fall semester classrooms at the Pepsi Class Crawl Sunday, Aug. 19.
