Commencement set for Dec. 14
More than 1,300 students are projected to receive degrees at the Universitys
2001 Fall Commencement Ceremony Friday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m. in the University
Arena (The Pit).
Of the total, the projected breakdown is as follows: 1,067 bachelors
degrees; 175 masters degrees; 29 doctorate degrees; 12 juris doctorate
degrees; 19 pharmacy doctorate degrees; and four medical doctorate degrees.
Deputy Provost Richard W. Holder will be the master of ceremonies.
Yasmin Madhani, who is receiving a Master of Arts degree, will give the official
commencement address.
Regent Larry Willard will award Regents Meritorious
Service Medals.
Among distinguished guests on the platform will be members of the UNM Board
of Regents, President Gordon, Provost Brian Foster and UNM vice presidents.
President and Mrs. Gordon will host a reception for graduates and their family
and friends on the east concourse of the arena following the ceremony.
