Carpenter named Study Abroad advisor
The Office of International Programs and Studies has announced that Ken Carpenter
has been appointed UNM Study Abroad advisor, replacing Rebecca Digman. For the
past three years he has worked in the office as an international student advisor.
Prior to that he was director of Casa Xalteva, an intensive Spanish language
school and study abroad center in Granada, Nicaragua.
Carpenter will manage direct student exchange programs sponsored by International
Programs and Studies with 33 different universities in Denmark, Sweden, Germany,
Austria, France, Scotland, England, Wales, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
The Study Abroad program also works closely with the UNM Latin American and
Iberian Institute, which sponsors exchanges in Andorra, Spain, Mexico, Central
and South America, as well as a range of summer intensive language programs.
The Office of International Programs and Studies also serves as clearing house for students who want to find non-UNM programs overseas, or sources of financial aid for study abroad programs.
