New cookbook features Lobo Legends
Proceeds fund athletic scholarships

Cooking With Lobo Legends, a cookbook featuring more than 500 recipes submitted by some 300 current and former Lobo student athletes, coaches, staff and longtime supporters, covers every occasion from start (appetizers) to finish (cookies, cakes) is now available with proceeds benefiting athletic scholarships.

Engineered by former Albuquerque Journal food writer and Lobo Club volunteer Lynn Mosher and alumna Yvonne Moise, Cooking With Lobo Legends is aimed at cooks of all levels of expertise and Lobo fans alike.

In addition to recipes such as Dennis Franchione’s “Peach Pepper Dip,” Stoney Case’s “Case Corn Fritters,” Abby Garchek’s “Artichoke Appetizer Dip,” and Fran Fraschilla’s “Hot Iltalina Sandwich” Cooking With Lobo Legends is a trip down memory lane with section indexes that feature bios on the cream of the crop – Bob King, The Pit, Lobo mascot, origin of Cherry and Silver colors and Pete McDavid are just some of the great Lobo legends covered.

“UNM staff, whether a novice cook or chef protégé, will love this book because it really has something for everyone and every occasion and best of all – it is all Lobos,” said David A. Sabolcik, Jr., director of special projects for the Lobo Club.

Each book is $25 and all proceeds benefit athletic scholarships at UNM. Shipping is available to all of the contiguous U.S. for an additional $4.
