Win prizes at Continuing Education open house
The Division of Continuing Education is holding an open house on Thursday, Jan. 18 from 4-8 p.m. at 1634 University Blvd. NE. Information about course offerings, personal enrichment programs, workshops and prizes will be available. UNM staff and faculty may use tuition remission for Continuing Education courses.
January Strategic Planning Forums set
Eight open forums for public comment on the UNM strategic planning process
are scheduled this month. All members of the campus community are invited to
attend and participate in the forums. Questions about the forums can be directed
to the Office of the Provost, 277-2611 or any branch campus directors
office.
The forum schedule is included in the Campus News calendar on Pg. 4.
Pow Wow nominated for Grammy
The UNM office of the Gathering of Nations, a program within Student Affairs,
recently announced that the Gathering of Nations Pow Wow has been nominated
for the first-ever Grammy Award to be presented for Best Native American
Music Album. The Pow Wow has been the recipient of the Native American
Music Awards for Best Pow Wow Recording the last two years.
The 43rd Annual Grammy Awards will be telecast on Sunday, Feb. 21.
Maxwell Museum hosts afternoon tea
The Maxwell Museum of Anthropology is hosting a free English afternoon tea
on Thursday, Jan. 18 from 2-4 p.m. Those interested in becoming volunteers in
its museum educator program are encouraged to attend.
