By
Veronica Valencia
A new Ambulatory Surgery and Imaging Center at the UNM
Health Sciences Center will help meet the changing health care needs of New
Mexicans.
Construction on the 37, 906-sq. ft. building is slated to begin next month
and will take a year to complete.
The facility, located at 1211 University Blvd. N.E., will hold six operating
suites, a surgery prep area and recovery suite with 22 beds. The imaging component
will house an imaging suite complete with MRI, CT Scan, mammography and ultrasoundcapabilities
as well as a pain management center.
The new center will allow health care providers to respond to current and future outpatient demands and provide relief for existing UNMH surgical facilities.
