UNM joins New Mexico to celebrate Route 66
UNM
joins other organizations and groups statewide to celebrate the 75th anniversary
of Route 66 in New Mexico. Diamond Jubilee events celebrating the mother road
are scheduled for July 20-22 in New Mexico. A kick-off news conference is scheduled
for Monday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. at the Filling Station Café, 3001 Central
NE, just east of the Girard/Central/Monte Vista intersection.
Various University departments are planning different events including exhibits,
lectures, entertainment and a tent near the Bookstore where campus visitors
can get a passport, information and a map describing points on campus
that they should visit during the celebration.
