Deese-Roberts named CASTL director
Nancy Uscher, UNM associate provost for Academic Affairs, has announced the
appointment of Susan Deese-Roberts as director of the new UNM Center for the
Advancement of Scholarship in Teaching and Learning (CASTL), effective July
1.
The new center "will serve as a central repository of information about campus programs, resources, and research opportunities dealing with the scholarship of teaching and questions about teaching-related endeavors. The center will provide rich and important opportunities for faculty development," Uscher said.
UNM Taos funded for Hispanic outreach
UNM Taos Education Center is one of three higher education institutions in
New Mexico to receive a grant for educational outreach to Hispanic students.
The $402,177 grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Education.
Montoya exhibit at CSWR
Photographic artist and educator Delilah Montoya will mount a one-woman exhibit
July 12 in Zimmerman Library.
Her show Ritual Semblance and Veiled Interiors, Prints and Installation, will show in the Center for Southwest Research Gallery through Sept. 12. The exhibit will include some three dozen pieces from her Corazon Sagrado/Sacred Heart, Saints and Sinners, To Be Invisible and Guadalupe Tatoo series.
