The New Mexico Endowment for the Humanities will honor UNM Press and Professor Emeritus in the Department of Art and Art History J. J. Brody at the NMEH Thirteenth Annual Humanities Convocation and Awards Ceremony Nov. 17 at the Marriott Hotel. The opening reception begins at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.

UNM Press will be recognized with the Institutional Award for its ongoing contributions to the humanities since the UNM Regents founded it in 1929. Brody, former director of the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology, will be honored with a Lifetime Contribution to the Humanities Award. Brody orchestrated local, national and international museum exhibitions and authored publications on Southwestern archaeology, American Indian art and museology.
