Health Sciences Center awards first certificates in health care ethics
UNMs Health Sciences Ethics Program awarded its first Certificate
in Health Care Ethics to 10 program participants in June. The next award
ceremony is planned for November. Approximately 20 people will be certified.
Participants included physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, professors
and graduate students, and others, both from the University and the community.
The certificate is awarded for successful completion of two eight-week modules.
Participants also design and present a final project.
Faculty for the program include senior scholars and professionals from UNMs
School of Medicine, Law School and Institute of Public Law, Department of Psychology,
New Mexico State Government and practitioners in private practice.
Enrollment for the program is ongoing. New classes begin every September and
January. The UNM tuition reimbursement covers all program costs for faculty
and staff enrolled in the Certificate Program.
