PROFESSOR BETSY NOLL TO BE HONORED BY UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES

University Libraries will present a Faculty Acknowledgement Award to Associate Professor of Education Betsy Noll on Thursday, October 27, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the Willard Reading Room of Zimmerman Library.

As part of the ceremony, Noll will give a lecture on “Advocacy as Social Action in Academia.” Noll teaches both undergraduate and graduate level classes at the College of Education at UNM. She received her Ph.D. in 1995 at the University of Arizona, Tucson. Her research interests include literacy, culture and schooling; teacher education; academic writing; women and higher education; and children's and young adult literature.

Noll has received numerous research grants and awards; written in several refereed publications and has contributed book chapters to a number of professional publications.

The ceremony is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served afterward.
