UNM’S ANDERSON SCHOOLS ANNOUNCE FALL CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

The Management Development Center at UNM’s Anderson Schools of Management is offering seven certificate programs in Albuquerque beginning in September. The programs include: The Nuts and Bolts of Human Resources, Financial Investigations, Nonprofit Management, Basic Accounting, Human Resource Management, Basic Management and Advanced Management. The programs offer professionals the opportunity to develop and improve job-related skills during the 12-week courses without having to be formally admitted or enrolled at UNM.

The Nuts and Bolts of Human Resources is a must for human resources professionals who want to gain insight into key human resources functions, establish a framework for integrating human resources activities throughout their organization and prepare a specific plan for developing the skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage a human resources department.

The Financial Investigations Certificate Program is designed for anyone interested in learning more about conducting effective and thorough financial investigations. It is also particularly useful for those in law enforcement, accountants and financial analysts.

The Nonprofit Management Certificate Program is designed for people working in nonprofit organizations or those who are considering making a career change to the nonprofit professional world. It provides a thorough grounding in the day-to-day management techniques and the ability to think strategically and soundly about organizational needs of the agency. The nonprofit program also gives valuable insights for members of boards of directors of nonprofit organizations.

The Basic Accounting Certificate Program is designed for non-financial managers who need to
understand the fundamentals of accounting and finance. In addition to mastering the basics, participants will learn how to make sound business decisions using relevant accounting information.

The Human Resource Management Certificate Program provides an overview of the six key areas in human resources management. Designed for experienced human resources professionals and human resources specialists who want to develop a generalist point-of-view, managers new to the human resources field and non-human resources senior managers, this course prepares participants for the Human Resource Certification Institute examination.

The Basic and Advanced Management Certificate Programs are designed to improve individual and group productivity and job performance. Participants will focus on practical issues related to their organizations and have the ability to network with individuals with similar experiences.

Registrations for these courses is underway and participants registering before Aug. 23 will receive a $50 discount. Classes begin September 3. Call 277-2525 for a free brochure or to register.
