Vice President for Business and Finance Julie Weaks Gutierrez has announced
the formation of a Project Management Team that will implement the financials
component of the Electronic Management Information Systems (EMIS) project. Founded in August of 1997, EMIS is a University-wide effort to reengineer
and automate various University business and administrative processes
to make them more efficient and customer focused. The financials component
includes the implementation of new web-based general ledger, accounts
payable and purchasing systems. Weaks Gutierrez said the team will be chaired by Judy Cartmell, associate
controller of the UNM Health Sciences Center (HSC). Other members of the team will include Bill Britton, University controller;
Bob Earnest, associate vice president, HSC Finance and Administration;
Max Kerlin, director, Resource Management; Bill Adkins, interim associate
vice president, Computer and Information Resources and Technology (CIRT);
Randy Whelan, senior project manager, CIRT; and, Fred Youberg, EMIS project
