UNM SCHOOL OF LAW TO DEDICATE NEW BUILDING NOV. 22

The University of New Mexico School of Law will dedicate the Frederick M. Hart wing on Friday, Nov. 22, from 3 to 4 p.m. in the building's forum. The school is located at 1117 Stanford Drive, northwest of Lomas and Girard.

Dean Robert J. Desiderio will give the welcome and opening remarks.

Fr. Robert F. Drinan, professor, Georgetown University Law Center, will give the keynote address. Drinan, author, ethicist and former dean of Boston College Law School, is a former United States congressman (D-Mass.)

Former UNM School of Law Dean Frederick M. Hart will give remarks. The wing is named in honor of his numerous contributions to the school, including start-up of the nationally recognized summer pre-law program for Native American law students.

The 32,000 square ft. plus facility, designed by Mazria, Riskin, Odems, Inc., includes eight classrooms, including one that can be converted to a courtroom, a dedicated courtroom and four seminar rooms. The teaching space is wired for advanced multimedia technology, including computer, Internet and videoconferencing capabilities. The courtrooms have remote controlled cameras, microphones and digital presenters.

Much of the $10.7 million addition was funded by private donations.
