Nov. 25, 2002 UNM AMERICAN INDIAN STUDENT DAY SET FOR DEC. 4 Nearly 400 Native American high school juniors and seniors from across
New Mexico will learn more about higher education at the University of
New Mexico's American Indian Student Day on Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the
Johnson Center Auxillary Gym. An information fair and registration begin at 7:30 a.m. Representatives
from more than 32 departments will be on hand. On-site admission and information
about scholarships, financial aid, tutoring and student life will be available.
At 9 a.m., UNM Provost Brian Foster and UNM Native American Programs
Director Benny Shendo will officially welcome the youth to UNM. A luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. followed by campus tours. "This is our opportunity to showcase all UNM has to offer Native
American students," said Pamela Agoyo, director of UNM's American
