ANDERSON SCHOOLS FACULTY MEMBER TO BE HONORED BY UNM LIBRARIES Professor Avi Shama of the Anderson Schools of Management (ASM) at the
University of New Mexico has been chosen for the UNM Libraries Faculty
Acknowledgment program for 2002-03. The award recognizes faculty member
from the UNM community who excel in academic productivity through research
and publication. Shama, who was recently appointed by UNM President F. Chris Garcia as
special advisor on economic development issues for the University, has
been at the ASM since 1983. He was named Rutledge Professor of Marketing
in 1999. The ceremony honoring Shama will be held Thursday, Dec. 12, from 3 to
4 p.m. in the Willard Reading Room in Zimmerman Library. As part of the
ceremony, Shama will give a brief presentation on economic development,
followed by a question-and-answer session. Previous Anderson Schools faculty honored with this award include Richard Reid, Allen Parkman, Dwight Grant and most recently Jeanne Logsdon. # # #
