UNM ANNOUNCES HOLIDAY HOURS

The winter holidays at UNM officially begin Monday, Dec. 23 and will extend through Wednesday, Jan.1, giving most University employees 12 consecutive days off. Regular University hours resume on Thursday, Jan. 2.

Certain critical facilities and departments, such as police and those involved in patient care, will remain open during the holidays. Other major campus departments and facilities have listed special holiday hours.

  • The University libraries have announced holiday hours. They include:
    All branches of the General Library closed Dec. 21-Jan. 1; Centennial Science and Engineering Library, Parish Memorial Library and the Fine Arts Library, intersession, open Mon.-Thurs. 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; closed weekends. Zimmerman intersession open Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Health Sciences Center Library: Open Sunday, Dec. 22 from 1 p.m.-6 p.m.; open Monday, Dec. 23 from 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m.; closed Tuesday, Dec. 24-Wednesday, Dec. 25; open Thursday, Dec. 26-Saturday, Dec. 28 from 9:30 a.m.- 6 p.m.; open Sunday, Dec. 29 from 1 p.m.-6 p.m.; open Monday, Dec. 30 from 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m.; closed Tuesday, Dec. 31-Wednesday, Jan. 1.
  • Law Library: Main library closed Sunday, Dec. 15 - Monday, Jan. 20. Temporary
    library in the Hart Wing rm. 3410 open Sunday, Dec. 15 from noon- 9 p.m.; Monday Dec. 16-Friday, Dec. 20, open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. All Law Library facilities closed Saturday, Dec. 21-Wednesday, Jan. 1. The temporary library in rm. 3410 will be open during intersession. Sunday hours on Jan. 5, 12 and 19 will be noon- 9 p.m. Saturday hours on Jan. 4, 11 and 18 will be noon- 6 p.m. Monday through Friday hours during intersession will be 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. The library will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20 for Martin Luther King holiday. Regular library hours will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

The CIRT building will close at 7 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23 and reopen at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003.

All computer systems, networks and dial-up lines will be available. Jobs requesting manual tape mounts will not be run. No printed output will be available for pick-up during the closure. All printed output will be available for pick-up on Thursday, Jan. 02, 2003. Operators will work various shifts throughout the break. The technical staff will be available for any system problems.

The CIRT building has had a security system installed on all exterior doors. These doors are monitored and report to Campus Police Dispatch. Campus police will conduct regular security checks.

The UNM Bookstore will be open Monday, Dec. 23 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; closed Tuesday, Dec. 24-Thursday, Dec. 26; open Friday, Dec. 27 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; closed Saturday Dec. 28-Sunday, Dec. 29; open Monday, Dec. 30 from 10 a.m.- 3p.m.; closed Tuesday, Dec. 31-Wednesday, Jan. 1. Regular hours resume on Thursday, Jan. 2.
