Feb. 5, 2003 UNM GENERAL LIBRARY OFFERS BIOGRAPHY, TRADE DATABASES Among its extensive electronic resources, the UNM General Library has two specialized databases available only to the University community. They are American National Biography Online and USA Trade Online. The American National Biography (ANB) Online has special features in its latest update in honor of Black History Month. ANB is available through the library website: http://elibrary.unm.edu/ under research databases and indexes. During Black History Month, ANB features an overview of African-American history by Joe W. Trotter, Jr., of Carnegie Mellon University, drawn from the "Oxford Companion to United States History." It offers background to the biographies in ANB Online and features links to 17 articles on key figures in African-American history. The General Library's Government Information department, as a federal depository library, offers access to the U.S. Department of Commerce database USA Trade Online. The license agreement provides for two workstations in Zimmerman Library. USA Trade Online features specific U.S. export and import information on more than 18,000 commodities.
