February 17, 2003 UNMS ANDERSON SCHOOLS ANNOUNCE 2003 HALL OF FAME RECIPIENTS The Robert O. Anderson Schools of Management (ASM) at the University
of New Mexico will honor three alumni at the 14th Annual Hall of Fame
dinner, Thursday, April 3, at the Sheraton Old Town. This years
recipients include: Michelle A. Coons, president/CEO at Wells Fargo Bank
Santa Fe; Gary L. Dushane, certified public accountant (CPA), partner,
KPMG LLP; and Edward J. Neff, CPA, retired partner, Neff/Ricci LLP. I am impressed by the high quality of nominees we received for
these awards, said Kathy Sporing, senior vice president and regional
private banking manager at Wells Fargo and the chairperson for this years
event. While all of our alumni nominees were impressive, these three
really set themselves apart with their commitment to making a difference,
both in their professional accomplishments and contributions to the community.
Coons joined Wells Fargo shortly after receiving her bachelors in business
administration from The Anderson Schools in 1983. As president of Wells
Fargo Bank Santa Fe since January 1999, she has overseen the growth of
the bank from $25 million to $350 million and exceeded budgeted earnings
for the past four years. She is past chair of The ASM Foundation Board
and national past president of the UNM Alumni Association. She was named
a Power Broker by the New Mexico Business Weekly in 2002 and 2003. Dushane was named partner in charge of the Midwest Area Risk Advisory
Services Practice for KPMG in October 2001 and was relocated to KPMGs
Chicago office after spending more than 26 years in Albuquerque. Currently
he serves on the Financial Research and Advisory Committee of Chicago
and the Board of Directors for Chicagos Goodman Theater. In 2002,
he was named one of Neff is a retired partner from the firm of Neff/Ricci LLP. He is a member
of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Mexico
Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Albuquerque Chapter of Certified
Public Accountants and the New Mexico Estate Planning Council. Neffs
service to the Albuquerque community spans more than four decades through
his involvement with organizations such as Albuquerque Little Theater
and the Heights Optimist Club, as well as his participation in the founding
of the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. He is a UNM Letterman and a member
of UNMs Lobo Club. He received his bachelors in business administration
from ASM in 1948. Awards will be presented to the recipients at the Hall of Fame dinner.
The event begins with no-host cocktails at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m.
The major sponsors for this years event are Wells Fargo Bank, Intel
Corporation, Bank of the West, Charter Companies, KPMG LLP, PNM and Grant
Thornton. Corporate table sponsorships are available at $1,000 for business and
industry partners, and $600 for non-profit organizations. Individual tickets

by Monday, March 31. The Hall of Fame dinner is ASMs most significant annual community
event. The funds raised support student scholarships, faculty research
and career placement activities. Last years event raised more than
