March 3, 2003 AWARD WINNING ARCHITECT TO SPEAK AT UNM Ed Mazria, design principal and founding member of Mazria Riskin Odems,
Inc., presents, "Who Really Holds the Keys to the Global Thermostat?"
on Wednesday, March 5, noon, in the University of New Mexico School of
Architecture and Planning, room 118. Mazria, internationally recognized for his innovative design and leadership
in resource conservation, has received honors and awards for his work
including numerous American Institute of Architects design awards. Others
include a Commercial Building Award from the Department of Energy, Landmark
Designation Award from the Albuquerque Conservation Association, and Pioneer
Award from the American Solar Energy Society as well as the Outstanding
Planning Award from the American Planning Association. He is the author of the pioneering text, "The Passive Solar Energy
Book." Mazria has lectured extensively in the United States, Europe,
Asia and Latin America and taught architecture courses at UNM, the University
of Oregon, University of Colorado-Denver, University of California-Los
