March 6, 2003 ARRANGEMENTS MADE TO COMPLETE UNM'S STUDENT UNION BLDG. University of New Mexico Vice President for Business and Finance Julie Weaks Gutierrez announced today that local contractor K.L. House, Inc. will complete the Student Union Building (SUB) renovation project. The announcement follows UNM's recent decision to terminate Silver Construction from the SUB project citing the company's inability to meet deadlines and provide the required number of skilled workers. UNM originally had planned that the project would have been completed by August, 2002. "Management and day-to-day supervision of the remaining work will be provided by K.L. House, Inc., a respected local contractor," Weaks Gutierrez said. "Representatives of K.L. House have reviewed the project and have indicated that they intend to be on-site as early as today." # # #
