UNM PRESIDENTIAL FINALISTS TO VISIT CAMPUS, ALBUQUERQUE

Two-day visits to the University of New Mexico have been scheduled for each of the five finalists for the position of president of the University of New Mexico, announced Maria Griego-Raby, chair of the UNM Presidential Search Committee.

The dates for the visits are as follows (click on name for biographical sketch and photo):

--April 8-9 for Louis Caldera, vice chancellor for University Advancement at the California State University (CSU) and president of the CSU Foundation.

--April 10-11 for Larry Edward Penley, dean of the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.

--April 14-15 for Edward John Ray, executive vice president and provost at the Ohio State University, Columbus.

--April 17-18 for Carlos Santiago, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at the University at Albany, State University of New York.

--April 22-23 for Linda Bunnell Shade, chancellor emerita, the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.

Each finalist, on the first day of his or her respective visit, will participate in a UNM Staff Forum from 11 to 11:45 a.m. in the Bobo Room, Hodgin Hall; a Faculty Forum from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. in room 120, Dane Smith Hall; and a Student Forum from 3 to 3:45 p.m., in the Willard Reading Room, Zimmerman Library (however, Louis Caldera's Student Forum will be held in room 120, Dane Smith Hall).

At the end of the first day of each visit, there will be an opportunity for the public to meet each candidate from 5:30 to 7 p.m. (in the case of Larry Penley, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.) at the Sheraton Old Town.

Additionally, there will be a University-wide reception at University House on the second day of each finalist's visit. They will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for Caldera, Penley and Ray and from 10 to 11 a.m. for Santiago and Bunnell Shade.
