May 30, 2003 Schamiloglu receives “Ambassador Award” Edl Schamiloglu, Pulsed Power, Beams and Microwaves Laboratory director and Gardner-Zemke Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) was selected by the City of Albuquerque as a recipient of a 2003 Good Will “Ambassador Award.” Schamiloglu was honored at a luncheon this month organized by the City of Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau. Professor Schamiloglu was recognized for being instrumental in bringing the 2007 combined IEEE International Pulsed Power Conference and the IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science to Albuquerque (he will be the General Chair of this conference). He is also the local coordinator for the forthcoming 2003 American Physical Society Division of Plasma Physics Annual Meeting in Albuquerque in October. Schamiloglu’s contributions were recognized as having a substantial economic impact for the City of Albuquerque. ###
