HEALERS, CURANDERAS TO PROVIDE FREE COMMUNITY SERVICE

More than 40 healers and curanderas from Cuernavaca, Mexico, will be in Albuquerque June 15-21 taking part in the University of New Mexico class "Curanderismo: Traditional Medicine Without Borders."

They will also provide community service and demonstrate their traditional methods at a number of locations in Albuquerque including:

  • Valle del Norte Community Center, 1812 Candelaria NW, on Tuesday, June 17, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.
  • Kalpulli Izkalli's Community Center, 1028 Ann Ave. SW, on Thursday, June 19, from 5 - 8 p.m.
  • Flea market at the New Mexico Expo from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 21.

The healers and curanderas look forward to meeting and working with community members and families. There is no charge, although donations will be accepted.
