ANDERSON SCHOOLS AT UNM TO HOST BRAZILIAN BUSINESS STUDENTS

The Anderson Schools of Management (ASM) at the University of New Mexico are hosting 24 Executive MBA students from Sao Paulo, Brazil as part of a five-year, cooperative international exchange program between UNM and Fundacao Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP).

In only its fifth year of existence, the FAAP program is ranked fourth-best program of its kind in Brazil.

ASM Professors Dwight Grant, Raul de Gouvea and Sul Kassicieh, who have traveled to Sao Paulo each year since 1998 to teach for the FAAP EMBA program, organized the exchange. They attribute the program’s success to excellent faculty combined with local participation by organizations including the City of Albuquerque’s Economic Development Department, the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, Intel, PNM, Mesofuel, Mesosystems, the New Mexico Department of Economic Development, Grant Thornton, Rick Johnson and Company and Sandia National Laboratories.

The students are taking courses in Organizational Behavior and Diversity with Professor Jackie Hood; Electric Commerce with Prof. Kassicieh; Management of Services with Professor Steve Yourstone; and Mergers and Acquisitions with Professor Dante Di Gregorio. In addition to their classroom experiences, the students will hear presentations from U.S. executives.
