UNM Celebrates Welcome Back Days - Aug. 24-29
As students return to the University of New Mexico Campus this month,
a week of fun-filled activities is planned to celebrate a new school
year.
Welcome Back Days, an opportunity to welcome new and returning students,
is set from Sunday, Aug. 24 to Friday, Aug. 29, with lots of free food,
live entertainment and information about university departments, organizations
and programs.
Welcome Back Days events include:
Sunday, Aug. 24: UNM Pepsi Crawl - Find the location of your
classes with a campus tour starting at La Posada Plaza. Tours take place
from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 24: Catch a free showing of the "Matrix Reloaded"
under the stars on the Lower Johnson Field. The movie starts at 8 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 25: UNM Ice Cream Social - Free ice cream served
by university VIP's to students, faculty and staff.
Tuesday, Aug. 26: Safety, Health and Wellness Day - Free massages,
a climbing wall, healthy food alternatives and information from the
Safety Health, Wellness and Recreation departments at the duck pond
from noon to 1 p.m. Check out the Vertical Horizon Concert in the SUB

Wednesday, Aug. 27: Women's and Cultural Day - Information about
UNM's ethnic, cultural and women's center programs and departments.
Enjoy free green chili stew and Pepsi along with live music throughout
the day at the duck pond.
Thursday, Aug. 28: Student Organization Day - Student leaders
will share information about the more than 340 student organizations
on campus. Enjoy free pizza, Pepsi and live music at the Duck Pond from
noon to 1 p.m. Something Corporate will be in concert at the SUB Ballroom

Thursday, Aug. 28: Welcome Back Day at North Campus - UNM Alumni
will serve free hotdogs and Pepsi in the Nursing and Pharmacy Building
courtyard from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 29: Community Service and Employment Day - UNM staff
and community organizations will offer job and volunteer information.
UNM Alumni will serve free hot dogs and Pepsi from noon to 1 p.m.
Monday - Thursday: Welcome Back Nights - Will run daily from
3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the duck pond for quick snacks and information
for non-traditional and commuter students.
