September 10, 2003 ARIZONA GOVERNOR JANET NAPOLITANO TO GIVE ARTHUR A. BLUMENFELD LECTURE
ON PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano will be the guest speaker for the
second annual Arthur A. Blumenfeld Memorial Lecture on September 26,
2003, at the Sheraton Old Town Hotel. The event is open to the public,
with a cocktail reception beginning at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and
the Governors keynote speech. Tickets for the event are $75 and

to RSVP. Gov. Napolitanos other speaking engagements are by invitation
only. The Arthur A. Blumenfeld Endowed Lecture Series honors the life and
work of Arthur Blumenfeld, former national president of the Government
Finance Officers Association and former chief administrative officer
of the City of Albuquerque. The Series is dedicated to furthering best practices in the fields
of public administration and municipal finance, issues that Blumenfeld
was passionate about. With this theme in mind, Gov. Napolitano will
also give a speech at The University of New Mexico Student Union Building,
Ballroom A, that addresses the shape and quality of public administration
in the United States and the Southwest, as well as the administrative
and political challenges she has faced in her capacities as Arizonas
U.S. Attorney, Attorney General and Governor. The speech begins at 1
p.m. Students and faculty of UNMs School of Public Administration
and Anderson Schools of Management will be invited to attend. The luncheon
is provided by contributions to the UNM Foundation/ Arthur A. Blumenfeld
Memorial Lecture Series. Gov. Napolitano will also visit Comanche Elementary, where she attended grade school.
