Dean Roger Schluntz, UNM School of Architecture and Planning, said, "Jim Long has never forgotten his roots, his community or his alma mater. "His support of the school ranges from the historic preservation and summer international travel programs, to students through travel scholarships and the Council for Design and Planning Excellence. He is a major supporter of the campaign for our new facility."

Long's firm, American Property, is an investment company that has become one of the state's largest private businesses with assets in excess of $500 million, more than $250 million in revenues annually and more than 4,000 employees. American Property owns property in more than 20 states including hotels, resorts, office buildings, retail space and multi-family condominiums.
