Sept. 26, 2003 LAW SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVES ON UNM CAMPUS OCT. 4 Law school representatives from more than 50 schools across the United
States will be on the University of New Mexico campus to meet with current
and prospective students and alumni during the second annual New Mexico
Law Day, Saturday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Union
Building ballroom. School officials will share tips on how to make applications competitive
and write personal statements and explain how law schools use grades
and LSAT scores when making admissions decisions. There will also be an opportunity to speak with law students about
the realities of law school and to observe a mock admissions panel. "Law Day is the biggest pre-law event in the state and every student
who is thinking about going to law school should attend," said
UNM College of Arts and Sciences Associate Dean Wanda Martin. Law Day is one element of UNM's expanding pre-law academic advisement
program. "The College of Arts and Sciences offers pre-law students from
across campus a wide range of scholarly resources as well as a full
calendar of pre-law workshops and presentations," Martin added. While the College of Arts and Sciences is hosting the event, New Mexico
Law Day is sponsored by the Western Association of Pre-Law Advisors
and is part of a weeklong series of legal educational events on university
campuses throughout the Western U.S. For more information, contact UNM's College of Arts & Sciences Advisement Center at 266-4621 or visit http://prelaw.unm.edu ### |
