Nov. 18, 2003 UNM SCHOOL OF LAW ON HISPANIC OUTLOOK LIST OF TOP 50 COLLEGES FOR HISPANICS A recent issue of the Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education places the University of New Mexico on a list of the top 50 colleges granting law degrees to Hispanics. The UNM School of Law ranks at 23 on the list with 25 Hispanic graduates. The rankings were compiled by the National Center for Education Statistics. California leads the nation in the number of law schools making the list with 12 mentions. New York, Florida and Texas tie for second place with six schools in each state making the top 50. The UNM School of Law is New Mexico's only law school. "Our school has a fine tradition of serving Hispanic law students. Our graduates have gone on to become leaders and have had a great impact on the legal community and beyond. We are pleased to be ranked by the Hispanic Outlook," said Dean Suellyn Scarnecchia. The Nov. 3 issue of Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education, Vol.14, No. 3, carries the rankings, along with law school and legal issue profiles. ### |
