Nov. 21, 2003 UNM GENERAL LIBRARY TO HONOR ART HISTORY PROFESSOR David Craven, Ph.D., will give a brief presentation, titled "Researching Revolutions: Art & Cultural Policy from 'Nuestra América" on Tuesday Nov. 25 in the Willard Reading Room of Zimmerman Library at the University of New Mexico. The presentation will begin at 1 p.m. and will be followed by a reception. "We are honored to recognize Dr. Craven with this event," says Camila Alire, dean of the General Library Department. "In addition to his scholarly accomplishments, he is a generous friend of the library system and has regularly donated books to the fine arts library through the years." Craven is a professor of Art and Art History with a specialization in Modern Art. He has written five books and co-edited a sixth while publishing more than 110 articles and reviews in scholarly publications of a dozen countries. His work has been published in seven languages. His current book, published by Yale University Press, is "Art and Revolution in Latin America, 1910-1990." The ceremony is part of the Faculty Acknowledgement Program sponsored by the UNM General Library to recognize UNM faculty for significant achievements in research and other scholarly/creative publications and projects at the University. ### |
