UNM CIVIL ENGINEERING PROFESSOR AWARDED FOR EXCELLENCE IN CONSTRUCTION EDUCATION

University of New Mexico Professor of Civil Engineering Timothy Ward will receive the Excellence in Construction Education 2003 Award from the New Mexico Building Branch of the Associated General Contractors. Ward has served as Civil Engineering chair in the UNM School of Engineering since 1997. The award will be presented during a recognition luncheon on Dec. 17.

A letter to Ward from AGC president Matthew Martin stated "You have continually participated with the commercial construction industry in meeting and advancing our education goals."

Also to be honored Wednesday by AGC is Bob J. Stamm, chairman of Bradbury Stamm Construction, who received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from UNM in 1942. His career in construction has produced several New Mexico landmarks, most notably Isotopes Park completed in March 2003.
