UNM Announces Associate Vice Presidents for Development and Strategic Communications
Mike Kingan has been appointed as the new associate vice president for development at the University of New Mexico. He will direct the fundraising activities of the university and its affiliated programs. He will also integrate individual fundraising activities into the university's overall development function.
Kingan comes to UNM from the University of Iowa, where he led development programs for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He also has worked on development activities in Michigan and Washington.
Anne Monson has been appointed as the new Associate Vice President for Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs at UNM. She will be responsible for directing and coordinating strategic communications, marketing and public affairs functions. She will also function as the strategic advisor to the president, the vice president for institutional advancement and senior university officials.
Monson is well-known in the Albuquerque professional community. She has been a senior level communications executive with the Lovelace Sandia Health System where she was responsible for planning and implementing strategic communications. During her career, she has also worked with non-profit community organizations and the electronics manufacturing industry. Monson currently has two children attending UNM.
Both Kingman and Monson will report to Mike Carroll, the vice president for advancement.
