UNM College of Education dedicates conference room to Bruntz
The University of New Mexico College of Education (COE) will dedicate the Terry
Bruntz Memorial Conference Room in the Education Office Building on Wednesday,
Feb. 14. The dedication is in memory of Terry Bruntz, a 20-year staff member
in the College of Education.
In 1997, the COE Staff Council initiated plans to name conference room 124
in memory of Bruntz. The COE Administrative Council and COE Faculty approved
the dedication and it proceeded to the UNM Regents. On Aug. 10, 1999, the Regents
approved the naming of the room.
The dedication will be held in the Terry Bruntz Memorial Conference Room. Professor
Eli Duryea, Dean Vi Florez and former Deans Peggy Blackwell and David Colton
will speak to invited guests and family members. A reception will follow in
the foyer of the main administration building at the west stained glass wall.
Bruntz was born Teresa Anne Brackmann on April 20, 1950, in Chicago. Her family moved to Albuquerque in the early 1970s. On Aug. 11, 1975, Bruntz came to UNM to work as Department Secretary with the Learning Materials Lab. She met and married Floyd Bruntz in November 1977. In 1991, Bruntz transferred to the Deans Office where she worked until her death.
