UNMS ANDERSON SCHOOLS ANNOUNCE 2002 HALL OF FAME RECIPIENTS
The Robert O. Anderson Schools of Management at the University of New Mexico
will honor three alumni, including Cornelius Higgins, Roger O. McClellan and
Carol Radosevich, at its 13th Annual Hall of Fame on Thursday, April 18, at
6 p.m. at the Sheraton Old Town in Albuquerque. Higgins is the principal at
Applied Research Associates, Inc.; McClellan is an advisor in the field of toxicology
and human health risk analysis; and Radosevich is the economic development director
at Public Service Company of New Mexico.
I am consistently overwhelmed by the high quality of applications we
get for these awards, said Roxanna Meyers, president of CenturyPlus and
chair for this years event. While all of our alumni nominees were
impressive, these three really set themselves apart with their commitment to
making a difference, both in their professional communities and in the region.
Higgins co-founded Applied Research Associates, Inc. in 1979, and the firm
has grown to more than 650 employees in more than 35 worldwide offices. Current
fiscal year sales are expected to be about $90 million. He has been a member
of the board of a private school, the UNM Civil Engineering Department Advisory
Board, church committees and several professional societies. He received his
masters degree from The Anderson Schools in 1987.
McClellan has more than four decades of experience as a scientist and research
manager in the fields of comparative medicine, inhalation technology and human
health risk analysis. He has served as president and CEO of the Lovelace Inhalation
Toxicology Research Institute and the Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology.
He is the author of more than 350 papers and has edited 10 books. In 1990, he
was elected to the Institute of Medicine/National Academy of Sciences. He has
served on the boards of various national-level health committees, as well as
being and adjunct faculty member at a number of
university institutions. He received his masters degree from The Anderson Schools
in 1980.
As PNMs economic development director, Radosevich manages the corporate-wide
economic development program that is designed to increase jobs and energy sales
by growing New Mexico businesses and industry. Since receiving her EMBA from
The Anderson schools in 1981, Radosevich has worked to improve the business
climate of New Mexico assisting with the recruitment or expansion of more than
100 companies. She has spearheaded a coalition of more than 50 economic development
business trade groups to lobby for the passage of a five-bill economic stimulus
package for the 2002 legislative sessions. She is an active member on a number
of community and professional organizations including the Rio Rancho Economic
Development Corporation, the PNM Foundation, the TV-I Foundation and the Albuquerque
Chamber of Commerce Economic Growth Planning Council.
Awards will be presented to the trio at the banquet, which begins at 6 p.m.
with no-host cocktails, followed by dinner 7 p.m. Major sponsors for this years
event are Wells Fargo Bank, Zanagra Dodge, Andersen, Jaynes Corporation and
PNM.
Corporate table sponsorships are available for $1,000 for business and industry
and $600 for non-profit organizations. Individual tickets can be purchased for
$75. To inquire about table sponsorships or to make reservations call The Anderson
Schools Development office at (505) 277-0880 or e-mail mchale@mgt.unm.edu
by Friday, April 5.
The Hall of Fame is Andersons most significant community event. Last years event raised more than $50,000 to support the vital program and services of The Anderson Schools. Funds raised help support student scholarships, faculty research and career placement activities.
