16 INDUCTED INTO ARCHITECTURE HONOR SOCIETY
Dean
Roger Schluntz, of the University of New Mexico School of Architecture and Planning,
recently announced induction of six graduate and 10 undergraduate students as
charter members of the UNM chapter of Tau Sigma Delta National Honor Society,
the only honor society recognized in the fields of architecture and the allied
arts.
Allied arts, in UNM's case, includes landscape architecture and community and
regional planning.
Tau Sigma Delta, founded in 1913 at the University of Michigan, is a member
of the Association of College Honor Societies, giving Tau Sigma Delta the high
rating of most distinguished honor societies in other educational fields.
Students inducted are in the top 20 percent of their class.
The following undergraduate students were admitted to the UNM chapter, Gamma Lambda:
· Robert Baca
· Parker Berg
· Mark Harvold
· Shelley Maynard
· Steven McCaslin
· Amber Walbridge
All hold BAs in Architecture except Baca, who earned a BA in Environmental Design.
The following graduate students were also admitted:
· Shawn Anderson
· Sonia Archuleta
· James Cooke
· Nasima Hadi
· Margaret Hirsch
· Laura Kuenn
· Karole Mazeika
· Catherine Moody
· Daniel Puzak
· Rossana Ramirez Robertson
Faculty attending the ceremony included Schluntz, Provost Brian Foster, Alf Simon, director, landscape architecture; Andy Pressman, director, architecture; David Henkel, director, community and regional planning; and Stephen Dent, associate professor, architecture, and Tau Sigma Delta member.
