Spanish Recruitment Video Receives Telly award
The University of New Mexico has received a Telly Award for a Spanish recruitment
video produced by Horizon West Productions. UNM is one of three educational
institutions in the country to win an award entered under the Non-Broadcast
Film/Video and TV Programs in the recruitment category and
competed against all other entries and not just Spanish entries.
UNM is proud of the quality of the video and we are excited about receiving
the award, said Eliseo Torres, vice president for Student Affairs, adding
that the video is an excellent tool to help recruit students to UNM.
The 12 minute video titled Transforma tu Vida en la Universidad de Nuevo
México (Transform Your Life at the University of New Mexico) is
the first Spanish recruitment video for UNM.
Owners of Horizon West Producations, said entries compete against a high standard
of excellence. Judges consist of a group of over twenty highly qualified production
professionals from all regions of the U.S. Judges represent a cross section
of producers from agencies, TV stations, production houses and corporate video
departments. The judges consider all the things that a producer does when building
a finished piece: writing, music, on screen talent, lighting, camera work, editing
and sound.
Other recipients in the same category include: The Boeing Company with their
entry for Boeing Mesa Recruitment; Colorado State University for Camp
Rocky Recruitment; JHT Multimedia of CT for U.S. Navy titled GO
Submarines; Richmarc Productions of Indiana for U.S. Marine Corp titled
Razor Sharp; EDMC Marketing of PA for The Art Institute titled New
Student Recruitment; Metro Video of Virginia for New TV Network titled
Get Ready; West Virginia University for Memorial Hospital, Human
Resource Department titled Clinical Associate Recruitment.
The Telly Awards was founded in 1980 to showcase and give recognition to outstanding
non-network cable TV commercials and was expanded to include film and video
productions as well as non-network TV programming.
Horizon West Productions is located in Corrales, N.M. and can be reached at 891-1689.
