HEWLETT-PACKARD TO MAKE A MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING SUPPORT FOR NEW MEXICO
EDUCATION ON MARCH 27
An announcement is set for Wednesday, March 27 at 10:15 a.m. at Bernalillo
High School by representatives of the Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) regarding
the more than $1.8 million in contributions to New Mexico educational institutions
that the company has made over the past 12 months. In addition, company representatives
will unveil a new $375,000 grant award to the University of New Mexico College
of Education (COE) that will ultimately benefit math and science education nationwide.
Attending the event will be New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson, Bernalillo Public
Schools (BPS) officials, and representatives from UNM, NMSU, and other educational
institutions from across the state.
Last August, HP awarded a two-year, $150,000 grant to the UNM-COE and BPS to
research the impact of technology on teaching and learning, as well as explore
creative ways of integrating wireless technologies into existing school curricula.
A demonstration of the new equipment will be part of event.
Bernalillo High School is hosting the event in its Library, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Take I-25 to Exit 242 in Bernalillo, then West on NM 550, then right at 1st light onto Camino Del Pueblo, then enter Gate A on right into Bernalillo High School lot. ###
