UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO CHOOSES PEPSI!

The University of New Mexico (UNM) announced today that it has awarded The Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc. (NYSE: PBG) an exclusive beverage contract, continuing a partnership that has existed for the past eight years.

Under the terms of the new agreement, a full line-up of Pepsi-Cola beverages - including carbonated soft drinks, Aquafina bottled water, SoBe, Dole fruit juices, Fruitworks, Lipton Brisk iced tea and Starbucks Frappuccino - will be offered in vending machines, through cafeteria services across the campus and at UNM 's athletic events.

"We're very pleased to be expanding our partnership with the Pepsi Bottling Group, and we look forward to a rewarding collaborative relationship," said UNM President William Gordon.

"We've been a long-time supporter of the University of New Mexico and are very excited to expand our partnership," said Mike Plichta, PBG Market Unit General Manager for New Mexico. "In addition to providing great products, we plan to continue our support for scholarships, recruitment and retention activities, Lobo athletics and special events. We're also looking forward to working with the University on a variety of marketing programs to heighten awareness throughout the state about UNM."

As part of the agreement, PBG will be the exclusive beverage provider for fountain machines as well as vending machines and sales of bottles and cans. Many of the vending machines placed on campus will feature a debit card reader, allowing for cashless transactions.

The Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc. (www.pbg.com) is the world's largest manufacturer, seller and distributor of Pepsi-Cola beverages with operations in the U.S., Canada, Greece, Russia, Spain and Turkey.

The University of New Mexico, located in Albuquerque, is the largest institution of higher learning in the state of New Mexico, with a main campus enrollment of nearly 24,000 students. It is a public research university, designated by the Carnegie Foundation as Doctoral/Research Extensive and is one of only four of those institutions to also be designated as Hispanic-serving.
