UNM OFFERS WORKSHOPS FOR ACTIVISTS , HEALERS, TEACHERS
The University of New Mexico Women's Resource Center sponsors a two-part workshop
about healthy ways to promote justice Saturday Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
and 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at First Congressional UCC, 2801 Lomas NE.
Featured speaker Margo Adair is author of "Meditations on Everything Under
the Sun" and "Working Inside Out." She is also co-founder of
Tools For Change.
Aimed at activists, healers, teachers, therapists - or anyone working to change
the world, the workshop, "Creating Justice/Sustaining Ourselves,"
looks at creating honest relationships that consider dynamics rooted in race,
class and gender, self-care and stress, and tools for developing new visions
to sustain us through the long haul.
The morning session covers the basics of creating justice, tools to heal the
world and avoiding burnout. In the afternoon, participants will learn how to
go deeper and stay the course.
The cost is $50 for the full workshop and $30 for the morning session only.
Scholarships are available. Send a one to two paragraph request to the UNM Women's
Resource Center, Mesa Vista Hall, Albq. NM, 87131, by Nov. 26.
Participants are encouraged to bring lunch and a pillow or blanket.
Call the UNM Women's Resource Center for information, 277-3716.
