SPEAKER HIGHLIGHTS SECOND ANNUAL UP-AND-COMERS AWARDS LUNCHEON
Forty outstanding individuals from across the state will be honored at the
second annual Up-and-Comers luncheon on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 11:30 a.m. to
1 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Pyramid Albuquerque.
The keynote speaker at this years event will be Steve Wells, President
of Los Alamos National Bank. Wells was selected to address this years
class of winners for his commitment to quality demonstrated by the fact
that LANB was the first New Mexico corporation and first bank in the nation
to be awarded the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2000. Wells began
his banking career 22 years ago and has been with Los Alamos National Bank since
1985. He received a BS in Business Administration from Eastern New Mexico University
and is a graduate of the Western States School of Banking, where he is a faculty
member teaching Technology Management.
KRQEs Dick Knipfing will serve as the emcee for the Up-and-Comer Awards
Luncheon, which will recognize young New Mexicans from nine communities and
16 industry sectors. A complete list of this years honorees can be found

is being sponsored with underwriting gifts from Wells Fargo Bank, Andersen,
and Charter Companies. Media sponsors for the program include KRQE and KUNM.
