UNM Video and Photo Opportunities for Oct. 29 - Nov. 4
The following is a list of events and activities occurring at the University of New Mexico during Oct. 29 - Nov. 4. Celebrity Dennis Weaver will be on campus Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. in the Bobo Room in Hodgin Hall.
Monday, Oct. 29
CASAA Colloquium: Testing the Effectiveness of a Public Health Approach
to Treating Substance-Abusing Women on Welfare, by Jon Morgenstern, Ph.D.,

Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 29 and 30
Blood Drive: UNM General Library and United Blood Services in conjunction with
other university organizations is sponsoring a blood drive from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.,
at Zimmerman Library, at the UBS bus parked just west of the Visitor Lot near
the Center for the Arts on Oct. 29 and 30 and on Oct. 29 at a bus parked at
the North Golf Course Parking lot, 277-5920.
Monday - Wednesday, Oct. 29 - 31
Haunted House: Wander through the haunted halls of The Dungeon,
enhanced with a variety of actors, sponsored by El Centro de la Raza, proceeds
to benefit the Amistades Program, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 5-10 p.m., Mesa Vista
Hall, room 1153, 277-1785.
Tuesday, Oct. 30
Speaker: Dennis DeHart, Mediations with Nature and Technology, will discuss
and present his recent work from the Metamorphose project, noon, Arts Technology
Center, 1923 Las Lomas NE, 277-2253.
Speaker: Halloween, by Peter Jordan who will talk about ghosts and UFOs and other mysterious things related to Halloween, 7 p.m., Kiva classroom, 277-5602.
Performance: Music From the Darkside directed by Eric Rombach-Kendall, performers will appear in Halloween costume, 7:30 p.m., Popejoy Hall, 277-2131.
Wednesday, Oct. 31
Celebrity Dennis Weavers Drive for Life: A press conference
to promote the use of new, sustainable energy with Institute of Ecolonomics
Founder and President Dennis Weaver, along with his team of inventors and scientists
who are driving from Los Angeles to Denver in alternative-fueled cars, 1 p.m.,
Bobo Room, Hodgin Hall, 277-1816.
SUB Pumpkin Carving Contest: Pumpkins will be handed out on a first come first serve basis at 10 a.m. Pumpkins must be back for judging by 12:45 p.m., at the tent on Smith Plaza, 277-2331.
Pumpkin Design Competition: Self Portraits, sponsored by the AIAS, entries to be judged by Architecture students on use of random materials; individual interpretation; craftsmanship/ presentation; and composition/use of space, noon, Courtyard of the main Architecture Building, 277-2879.
Thursday, Nov. 1
Poetry Reading and Book Signing: By award winning Hispanic poet Aaron Abeyta,

Friday, Nov. 2
Artist Reception: In conjunction with Shawn Pham Warricks exhibit, Talking

Performance: An Eclectic Evening of Music, by the Las Cantantes Womens Choir, 7:30 p.m., Keller Hall, 277-2131.
Performance: Comedian Margaret Cho, 8 p.m., Popejoy Hall.
Saturday, Nov. 3
Benefit Performance for American Red Cross: Raising Our Voices,
performed by musicians and artists from the College of Fine Arts, will feature
song and dance, spoken recitations and instrumental music, 8 p.m., Popejoy Hall.
