ALBUQUERQUE RESIDENT RECEIVES NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

Rachel Wilson, an Albuquerque resident, and student from the University of New Mexico Anderson Schools of Management (ASM), has been named as a recipient of a full, one-year national scholarship by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Minority Initiatives Committee.

Wilson, a native of Mauston, Wis. and a graduate of Highland High School in Albuquerque, was one of two recipients from the Anderson Schools of Management to receive the scholarship. It’s the second consecutive year Wilson was selected to receive the scholarship. The junior is majoring in accounting and finance. Marlena Torres, a Los Lunas resident, was the other recipient from the Anderson Schools.

Wilson and Torres were among 200 students nationwide selected to receive the scholarship. The organization awarded more than $600,000 to students at schools across the country.
